Achieving stringent accreditation at two sites in Australia (Melbourne and Sydney), offered certain challenges. With the vast number of activities at both sites, adopting a consistent approach to understand the specific legal obligations and keeping up-to-date with regulatory changes became an important focus.
EnviroLaw and SafetyLaw, offering compliance relevancy and understanding
In searching for systems to assist with the legal obligation element of the accreditation process, Landis + Gyr worked with Environment Essentials to implement EnviroLaw and SafetyLaw. With these products, Landis + Gyr receives frequent legislative updates and has access to easy-to-understand summaries. Environment Essentials continues to provide valuable support and knowledge to management and the environment and safety teams across both locations to ensure ongoing compliance of the certified systems in place.
In addition, Environment Essentials developed and conducted customised training packages for general safety awareness for all personnel and risk assessment activities for the selected teams. Importantly, the training sessions reinforced a focus on safety and their goals of continuous improvement and building employee competencies.
The platform has become an important part of our compliance framework, providing confidence that we remain up to date with evolving legal obligations while supporting our ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certified management systems.
