Australia – Critical infrastructure -Reforms to improve cyber security announced
The Department of Home Affairs has announced an action plan to improve cyber security in Australia’s critical infrastructure. The plan includes actions such as reforming the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018 to improve risk management program requirements for high-risk assets and powers of Ministerial Directions, and preparing systems for post-quantum cryptography. It is the second action plan under the 2023-2030 Australian Cyber Security Strategy.

Australia – Workplaces – Report of Federal Safety Commissioner review released
The Australian Government has published the final report for the review of the Federal Safety Commissioner. The report contains 31 recommendations that would alter the approach of administration of the current WHS Accreditation Scheme.
Queensland – Psychological hazards – Review of anti-discrimination and human rights frameworks announced
The QLD Government has announced it will be reviewing human rights and anti-discrimination frameworks and has published the terms of reference. The review will include QLD Human Rights Commission’s functions and performance, as well as uncommenced provisions of the Respect at Work and Other Matters Amendment Act 2024, which would have created a positive duty for PCBUs under the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991. The review is intended to be complete by March 2027.
