The VIC Government has announced that industrial waste will be electronically monitored from July 2019 and paper transport certificates will be phased out. A new waste tracking tool will also be created in the next year, which will assist the EPA in identifying potential illegal storage of hazardous material. A new GPS electronic tracking system is expected to be finalised by March 2020 to give industry three months to transition before the Environment Protection legislation changes commence on 1 July 2020.
